Nushagak River Adventures Lodge in Alaska’s Bristol Bay
In the heart of Bristol Bay, Alaska lies Nushagak River Adventures Lodge—a short 65-minute commercial flight from Anchorage, then a scenic 35-minute floatplane ride from Dillingham, Alaska. The Nushagak River in Southwest Alaska is a little slice of heaven—originating from the Alaska Range flowing into the Nushagak Hills continuing on into Nushagak Bay. The river banks are lined with spruce, poplar and fireweed with open tundra just beyond. It’s stunning, peaceful and serene. Guests are likely to see eagles soaring and moose foraging with an occasional bear sighting, plus lots and lots of fish.
- Dillingham, Alaska is located 350 miles southwest of Anchorage.
- The village of Dillingham is located at the mouth of Nushagak River which drains into Bristol Bay.
- Our lodge is located 35 miles up river on the Nushagak, 3-miles upstream of Portage Creek.
Comfort in Bristol Bay
Most of the land along the Nushagak River is owned by the Choggiung LTD Native Corporation. This limits the number of lodges, camps, and anglers on the Nushagak which in turn provides you some of the very best opportunity to be “on the fish”. Some phenomenal fishing takes place right in front of the lodge. Guests can fish all day with their guide then battle fish after dinner back at the lodge. Our guests catch and release kings, silvers, chum, sockeye, Dolly Varden, grayling, char, and Northern pike right off our banks in the evening time if they desire.
