Guide “ Steve Huber “ brings his game to help a sick Bald Eagle.
Steve Huber's Guide Service There is more to being a guide then catching fish...catching fish is high on the list. Yesterday we rounded a corner, to find a bald eagle on the rocks. I said let’s get a picture that we normally don’t find them this low and his closest this one. The eagle struggled using his beak to pull himself away, he obviously had something wrong with him. Made a phone call to Andy to help find out who we need to talk to you to see if we can get this bird. After getting off the water I talked to Bob for the forest service. Bob got a hold of Bre from fish and wildlife and we’re going to go look for the bird today. Harvey Young agreed to take her across where we last saw the bird to see if they can catch it. The bird was not in the same place in the morning. We came out of the wild and scenic area to an area called icebox. We were met by fish and wildlife who is looking for the broad stock of any wild fish we had. We told him we didn’t have any fish, but we’re looking for a sick eagle. He said an eagle just flown over real low over icebox. We rounded the corner, low and behold there was the bird. We called Bob back and he got a hold of Bre and we had a plan to go catch this bird. As you can see, Pam and I climbed up and I used my Beckman net to capture him. Update tomorrow, bird had a infection in the stomach. They flushed him out and get him rehydrated ready to release him in a few days.....Great to see all the guides looking out and helping. ... See MoreSee Less
