Jeff Tart

Jeff is a native of Georgia, raised in the Appalachian Mountains near the North Carolina border.  He grew up fishing those mountains all the way to the coasts of Florida. He developed a lifelong passion for the sport, which has taken him from fresh to saltwater across most of the Americas. Jeff served as an armorer in the Georgia Army National Guard while attending North Georgia College, and then served as a U.S. Army infantry officer, spending most of his time in Europe, where he was able to fish, hunt, and explore as he traveled for work. After his Army career, he began guiding fishing trips in the southeast. Jeff relocated to Alaska in the late 1990s. He is currently a certified USCG captain and registered big game guide and outfitter in the State of Alaska, having hunted and fished throughout the state. Jeff has served as a hunting and fishing guide in Argentina, Oregon, Utah, Montana, Georgia, and North Carolina. He currently resides in southwest Montana with his wife of 32 years and their four daughters. Jeff is an avid reader who enjoys history, philosophy, and theology, as well as the older fishing and hunting classics.
