King salmon fishing in Alaska on the Nushagak River [...]
Nushagak River Adventures has quickly emerged as one of the premier Alaska fishing resorts thanks to our prime location, newly-built riverside cabins, and first-class salmon fishing guides. Whether you’re a family full of seasoned anglers or a group of beginners hoping to learn some tricks of the trade in The Last Frontier, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for here on the Nushagak River.
While visiting anglers choose Nushagak River Adventures for our seclusion and world-class salmon fishing in Alaska, many are genuinely curious about the history of this once Yup'ik-inhabited wilderness. Before Alaska fishing camps slowly began to pop up along the peaceful Nushagak River, the nearby communities of Nushagak and Portage Creek were small, thriving villages.

Most of our anglers leave the Nushagak River with enough packaged salmon to feed their family and friends lots of great table fare for the year. What are you going to do with all that frozen salmon? It’s common knowledge that salmon can last anywhere from 4-8 months in a freezer, depending on temperatures and quality packaging—something we excel at Nushagak River Adventures.
Every year the Alaska Department of Fish and Game compiles Nushagak River fish counts, specifically for our five salmon species. Nushagak River Adventures sits on the world’s largest king salmon run, and the 2018 data proves it. 2018 ended up being a phenomenal year as we saw hundreds of thousands more salmon in the Nushagak River than in 2017. We’re so proud to be one of few Alaska salmon fishing lodges on the Nushagak! Here is some of the data from this year’s report.
