Joaquin Capelle was born and raised in Patagonia, Argentina where he grew up fishing for rainbow and brown trout. His passion for the outdoors turned into a profession at an early age when he began guiding fly fishing and hunting trips in Patagonia. Later on, Joaquin combined both his passions when he created a hunting and fishing consulting agency.
During his 30-year guiding career, Joaquin has chased many species across the Americas, such as the golden dorado in Argentina; snook, tarpon and permit in the flats of Florida; and salmon in Alaska. He has spent the last two summers guiding for kings and reds on the Nushagak River.
In the fall you can find Joaquin in the mountains of New Mexico and Utah guiding for elk, mule deer and pronghorn antelope, or chasing trophy whitetails and Mule deer where he resides in Northwest Kansas with his archery tackle.
After the fishing and hunting seasons end in the US, Joaquin travels to Patagonia to guide for trout on the fly and doubles as a hunting guide for free range red stag.
Joaquin’s other passions are trekking/camping with family and friends, skiing and flying his motor-powered parachute.
